Fitbit Premium: Bringing Better Sleep to Life

To help consumers better understand the value of Fitbit Premium, Fitbit commissioned Preference Studio to create a suite of campaign assets designed to bring the subscription’s features and benefits to life.

The project combined cinematic filmmaking, bespoke rig engineering, motion graphics and 3D animation to create engaging content that translated product features into relatable everyday moments. Alongside hero films produced in both English and German, we developed supporting social content and visual assets designed to maximise campaign reach across digital platforms.

The Challenge

Fitbit Premium offers a wide range of health and wellbeing features, but communicating those benefits in a simple, engaging way can be challenging.

The objective was to create content that moved beyond feature lists and technical explanations, helping audiences understand how Fitbit Premium supports better sleep, recovery and daily wellbeing through real-life experiences.

The campaign needed to work across multiple territories while maintaining a premium visual identity consistent with the Fitbit brand.

More Than A Production Partner

Rather than relying solely on product demonstrations, we built a series of visual stories centred around relatable moments in everyday life.

A key element of the production was a bespoke rotating camera rig, designed and built specifically for the project. Constructed using custom scaffold engineering, the rig allowed us to repeatedly rotate around a bed while seamlessly transitioning through different times of day, lighting setups, wardrobe changes and user scenarios.

This technique created a visually striking representation of the sleep journey while showcasing how Fitbit Premium supports users throughout different stages of rest and recovery.

To further enhance the story, we combined:

The result was a campaign that felt both technically sophisticated and emotionally relatable.

Behind the scenes

One of the most memorable aspects of the project was the development of the rotating bed sequence.

Working with a long-term technical collaborator who regularly designs specialist builds for our productions, we created a custom rig capable of delivering multiple seamless transitions in a single visual move.

Each rotation revealed a different moment in the user’s journey — from winding down for sleep, to deep rest, to waking refreshed and ready for the day ahead.

The sequence became the centrepiece of the campaign and helped transform complex product benefits into instantly understandable visual storytelling.
